Job Summary
Guide clients through the estate planning process from initial design meetings through trust execution and funding. Review customized plans drafted by the paralegal team, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client goals while serving as the primary point of contact. Evaluate circumstances for advanced strategies such as ILITs, IDGTs, and GRATs, and collaborate with external advisors for integrated planning. Manage a caseload of 32 billable hours per week within established systems. This role offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend expectations, situated within a boutique firm led by a State Bar Certified Specialist.
Required Qualifications
- Active California State Bar license in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of substantive estate planning experience
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience with advanced planning strategies, including ILITs, IDGTs, GRATs, SLATs, CRTs, and/or family entity planning
- Comfort and confidence in direct client communication: written, verbal, and in-person
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload without step-by-step supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be available to work in the office Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm
- Must be able to work from either the Laguna Hills or San Clemente office, depending on business needs
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to travel between office locations
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of substantive estate planning experience
- Experience with trust administration and/or probate
- Prior experience in a boutique or small firm environment
- Solo practice background
