Job Summary

Join Aprio's Legal team as an Estate Planning Attorney. You will advise clients on all aspects of estate planning (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, medical powers of attorney, tax strategies), draft/review estate planning documents, conduct client consultations to assess goals/assets/family dynamics, manage complex estates (including business interests, charitable giving, multi-generational planning), collaborate with financial advisors and other professionals to create integrated estate plans, stay current with federal/state laws impacting estate planning, probate, and tax matters, represent clients in probate court and administration of trusts and estates as needed, and foster trust and rapport with clients through clear communication and confidentiality. Qualifications include a JD, active state license, at least five years in estate planning, strong drafting experience, knowledge of estate/gift/and generation-skipping transfer taxes, excellent communication/negotiation/problem-solving skills, discretion and empathy, and proficiency with legal software. Preferred skills include experience with high-net-worth clients, probate litigation or trust administration, delivering presentations, and coordinating solutions with accountants/financial planners. Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant state
  • Minimum five years of dedicated experience in estate planning
  • Experience drafting and implementing estate planning documents
  • Strong understanding of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy
  • Proficiency with legal research and practice management software
