Job Summary
Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher and EL Coordinator at BASIS Mesa will provide specialized instruction and supports to fulfill IEP, 504, and EL requirements. The role involves managing case services for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with state and federal special education laws, facilitating IEP and 504 meetings and MET sessions, supporting general education teachers to implement IEP requirements for FAPE, maintaining confidential documentation, gathering data for IEP/MET meetings, tracking progress on goals, adapting instruction for eligible students, performing CPI-certified restraint/seclusion if required, supervising Instructional Assistants, proctoring state/district/alternate assessments, and overseeing 504/EL processes and services. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, valid Special Education certification, CPR/First Aid, IVP clearance, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Special Education, CPI certification, and prior special education teaching experience.
