Job Summary
Coordinate the campus-level Exceptional Student Services program for Phoenix Union High School District. Responsibilities include arranging evaluations for placement or re-evaluation, conducting placement/review staffing for exceptional students, overseeing staff case management for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), complying with reporting procedures, gathering data for program planning and funding, initiating and maintaining legal documentation, acting as liaison with feeder schools and community agencies, monitoring program effectiveness, providing instructional leadership and coordination of campus ESS staff, managing department operations including budget and facility planning, and advising students and parents on school progress and personal/educational matters. Requires a Master's Degree, certification and experience in exceptional student services, two years of successful secondary-level teaching, experience coordinating programs with general education and ESS staff, knowledge of referral/placement evaluation regulations, experience with IEPs, and strong collaboration with school and community resources.
