Job Summary
Support students' academic growth by teaching individuals and small groups while taking initiative to plan activities that meet their development levels. Engage in professional development, promote student independence and social skills, and provide positive reinforcement and constructive feedback. Effectively communicate with staff, resolve conflicts among students, and develop a positive rapport. Instruct individuals and small groups as directed, assist in tracking student growth, and prepare the classroom for instructional activities. Monitor students' safety and security throughout the day. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate flexibility adjusting to changes in daily routines and administrative directives.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, under the direction of the teacher, nurse and/or support staff.
- Ability to support and reinforce the teacher's expectations for students.
- Physical agility and strength, with Safety Care Training (SCT) or the ability to complete SCT training.
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of higher education is preferred.
