Job Summary
Teach ESOL to adult students, conduct initial and ongoing assessments using BEST and TABE Class-E, and develop curriculum materials including daily lesson plans. Provide classroom instruction and educational advising while integrating technology and digital literacy skills. Maintain student records in agency reporting tools and facilitate access to higher educational programs. Administer assessments and participate in staff development to ensure compliance with DESE standards and funder requirements. This part-time role includes 28 hours per week over a 36-week academic year at $30.00 hourly. The schedule covers Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in education or related field, or teaching certification and commensurate work experience
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a similar environment
- Strong working knowledge of educational theory and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and compassionately in a culturally competent manner, with students of a wide variety of backgrounds, skill levels, race and ethnicity with varying level of English language skills
- Technology skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
