Job Summary

Teach ESOL to adult students, conducting initial and ongoing assessments using BEST and TABE tools while integrating technology and digital literacy into the curriculum. Develop daily lesson plans and curriculum materials that meet best practice standards, then provide educational advising and facilitate student access to additional skills training and higher education programs. Maintain student records in agency reporting tools and incorporate feedback data into course offerings. Schedule includes 12 hours of in-person beginner ESOL instruction Monday through Wednesday and 4 hours of online intermediate ESOL on Fridays, totaling 35 weekly hours with dedicated prep and administrative time.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in education or related field, or teaching certification and commensurate work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a similar environment
  • Strong working knowledge of educational theory and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and compassionately in a culturally competent manner, with students of a wide variety of backgrounds, skill levels, race and ethnicity with varying level of English language skills
  • Technology skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
