Job Summary
Provide individualized and group instruction to adults in English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes while conducting on-site activities and planning curricula. Collaborate with Education and Career Advisors to develop Individual Education and Career Plans based on learner goals, utilizing online platforms to maintain communication with students. Develop and document instructional materials, conduct periodic academic assessments, and participate in staff and program development activities including professional growth plans. This role ends on June 11, 2027. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences or related field
- one to three years of previous teaching experience with adults and/or youth
- preferably in ABE, ASE, or ESOL in a community based setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design, development, assessment, and evaluation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
Desired Qualifications
- Masters in TESOL
- familiarity with Department of Elementary and Secondary Education MA Curriculum Frameworks and College and Career Readiness Standards
- Certification in administering and scoring the TABE Reading and Writing and BEST Plus 2.0
- Bilingual skills in English and Haitian Creole
