Job Summary
The ESL Teacher will provide and guide instruction for K-12 ESL students across Camden Prep campuses, collaborating with Special Education Coordinators and school leaders. Responsibilities include in-class support in general education and small group instruction, sheltered instruction strategy guidance, attending IEP meetings, following ESSA guidelines for ESL identification and instruction, implementing curricula aligned to WIDA standards, administering WIDA assessments, reinforcing positive behavior, communicating with families, and committing to ongoing professional growth. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor’s degree (NJ ESL certification required), with Master’s preferred and a minimum two years of urban teaching experience. The role requires travel between Camden campuses and entails engaging with families and colleagues to support student language development and academic achievement. Compensation ranges from $56,000 to $80,000 with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
- Valid NJ English as a Second Language State Certification is required
