Job Summary
ESL Teacher for Uncommon Schools’ Camden Prep campuses, traveling between Camden campuses to serve K-12 English Learners.Responsibilities include in-class and small-group ESL instruction, providing feedback on sheltered instruction strategies, attending IEP meetings for English Learners, following ESSA guidelines and implementing WIDA standards, administering WIDA assessments, creating a positive learning environment aligned to school values, engaging families, and collaborating with content teachers and Special Education Coordinators. Requires a Bachelor's degree with NJ ESL certification and urban-teaching experience preferred; compensation ranges from $56,000 to $80,000 with comprehensive benefits. The role involves full-time teaching duties across campuses located in Florence, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
- Valid NJ English as a Second Language State Certification is required
- By the time that employment begins, candidates must have received a Bachelor's degree from a College or University
- GPA requirements: 2.75 (before Sept 1, 2016) or 3.0 (after Sept 1, 2016) for NJ teaching roles (specific to ESL in NJ)
