Job Summary
ESL Teacher for Camden Prep across Camden campuses; travel between campuses to support K-12 ESL students, collaborate with Special Education Coordinators and content teachers, and participate in IEP meetings. Responsibilities include providing in-class support and small group instruction for ESL students, implementing sheltered instruction aligned to WIDA standards, administering WIDA assessments, engaging families, and contributing to professional growth. Requires following ESSA guidelines for ESL identification and instruction, creating a positive learning environment, and maintaining high expectations and conduct. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (NJ ESL certification required), 2+ years urban teaching experience preferred, and a commitment to Uncommon Schools’ educational philosophy. Compensation ranges from $56,000 to $80,000 plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred; and Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
- NJ English as a Second Language State Certification is required
