Job Summary
The ESL Teacher will provide and guide instruction for K-12 ESL students across Camden campuses, traveling between campuses as needed. Responsibilities include in-class support in general education and small-group instruction, providing feedback on sheltered instruction strategies, attending IEP meetings for English Learners, following ESSA guidelines for identification and instruction, implementing curricula aligned to WIDA standards, administering and interpreting WIDA assessments, engaging families in students’ education, and maintaining a positive, structured learning environment with a focus on academic and language acquisition mastery. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor’s degree with NJ ESL certification required, urban teaching experience preferred, and a commitment to professional growth and collaborative work with Special Education Coordinators and school leaders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Valid NJ English as a Second Language State Certification required
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
