Job Summary
CDCPS ESL Teacher role focuses on delivering rigorous English Language Learner instruction aligned to WIDA MA frameworks, in a safe, inclusive environment. Responsibilities include teaching listening, speaking, reading and writing in small groups; providing scaffolds; continuously assessing language goals; partnering with classroom teachers and Special Education staff to support Language Learners and determine IEP accommodations; communicating progress to families; administering WIDA assessments; maintaining student records; and engaging in ongoing professional development. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid MA ESL Teacher License with SEI Endorsement, strong collaboration and communication skills, and a commitment to equity and culturally responsive pedagogy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education ESL Teacher License and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement is required
- Experience with school-aged children preferred
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
