Job Summary
Deliver engaging English lessons and lead off-site excursions for international teenagers while maintaining student discipline and safety. Prepare curriculum-aligned content, monitor progress, and submit weekly evaluation reports. Manage on-campus activities, coordinate food distributions, and facilitate orientation and departure logistics. Act as a responsible supervisor during emergencies and participate in staff meetings. Work long hours including weekends and holidays, with classes starting at 8:30am and excursions ending at 10:30pm. Earn $1,037–$1,393 weekly for residential staff or $1,620–$1,830 for commuters, with on-campus housing included.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in TESOL, linguistics, or English
- ESL teaching certificate, such as Cambridge CELTA or its equivalent
- Prior ESL experience of teaching teenagers
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- A good sense of direction and a strong knowledge of the city and its surroundings, including the public transportation system
- Commitment to working extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to ensure program success
- Willingness to work long hours as classes could begin as early as 8:30am and excursions could end as late as 10:30pm
- Teaching Hours: 30 hours in a 2-week period
- Excursion/Activity Hours: 60 hours in a 2-week period
