Job Summary
Support instructional needs of English language learners in an inclusive monolingual or bilingual dual immersion setting by implementing LPAC responsibilities for Bilingual and ESL program compliance. Provide instructional support in grades Pre-K-12 as assigned while maintaining well-organized, reliable records. Fluently communicate in both English and Spanish with staff, parents, and the community. Maintain a calm and patient demeanor while interpreting and following instructions using proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and e-mail. Requires two years of experience working with children in an educational environment, with a valid Texas Paraprofessional certificate preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions
- Ability to relate well with school personnel, parents, and the community
- Ability to keep well-organized reliable records
- Calm and patient demeanor with staff, students and others
- Proficient in computer skills; MS Word, Excel, and e-mail
- Two years of experience working with children - educational environment preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of study in an accredited institution of higher education, preferred
- Valid Texas Paraprofessional educational certificate preferred
