ESL Program Manager

Job Summary

Coach teachers, Assistant Principals of Student Services, and school leaders on effective content-based language instruction strategies to drive academic and linguistic outcomes for emergent bilingual students. Conduct individualized coaching sessions, observe ELDA instruction, and provide actionable feedback to improve comprehensible input. Lead professional learning communities, data team meetings, and school-based practice clinics focused on analyzing cohort comparison and Summit K12 data trends. Ensure consistent implementation of English Language Proficiency Standards and state/federal guidelines while supporting Title III engagement activities. Collaborate with regional and school-level teams to facilitate TELPAS testing plans and develop strategic response plans to meet annual goals. Work hybrid three days a week with regular travel to campus sites for professional learning and meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must possess a valid Texas Teaching Certificate + ESL Supplemental
  • Proven record of results driving emergent bilingual academic and linguistic growth
  • Deep knowledge of content-based language instruction (CBLI)
  • Leadership in planning and monitoring multilingual compliance policies
  • Exceptional ability to set clear metrics for success, monitor progress, and demonstrate persistence in overcoming obstacles to achieving short- and long-term goals
  • Excellent leadership and management skills required
  • Exceptional coaching skills that lead to improved instructional effectiveness
  • High self-awareness, humility, and integrity
  • Demonstrated commitment to honoring student's unique identities and creating collaborative spaces of joy and learning
  • Reliable transportation is needed for travel between campuses
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • The person in this position needs to be able to move about inside and outside the school throughout the workday
  • The candidate is expected to attend conferences, meetings and training sessions both virtually and in person within the Region
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a successful assistant principal, school leader, or full-time or bilingual instructional coach at a secondary campus, or district level

Desired Qualifications

  • relevant Master's degree in Multilingual Education preferred
  • experience effectively implementing KIPP Texas's chosen resources and frameworks such as Get Ready!, Summit K12, and 7 Steps to a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom
  • Stay well-informed of current curricular and educational thoughts, trends, and practices, as well as legislation impacting multilingual programming
