Job Summary
ESKO Flexo Prepress Operator Level 3 responsible for preparing, optimizing, and managing electronic files for flexographic and digital printing environments. Uses advanced ESKO software to manage color consistency, automate platemaking workflows, and calibrate external proofing devices. Requires deep technical expertise in flexographic standards, G7 methodology, press fingerprinting, and color profile mapping. Duties include file preparation (trap and adjust artwork), G7 color correction, press fingerprinting/characterization, ICC/profile mapping, HP Indigo workflow configuration, Epson proofer calibration, step-and-repeat automation, and QA/documentation compliance. Qualifications include a BS in Graphic Design or related field and 5-7 years of color separation/job engineering experience; proficiency in ESKO suite and Adobe Creative Suite; strong knowledge of ICC profiling, delta-E tolerances, UV LED plate exposure, and DFE architectures; familiarity with spectrophotometers (e.g., X-Rite) and color verification; corporate quality systems and GMP-like procedures.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Graphic Design or related field
- 5-7 years of color separation / job engineering experience in flexographic and digital flexible packaging / label manufacturing
- Advanced proficiency in ESKO software suite (Automation Engine, ArtPro+, Color Engine, Pack Proof) and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with ICC profiling, delta-E tolerances, and color management tooling
- Ability to calibrate and proof across multiple devices (spectrophotometers such as X-Rite)
- Proven ability to manage color consistency across workflows (G7 methodology)
- Proven experience with spot colors and Pantone LIVE workflows
- Ability to read and interpret color targets and proofs
- Prolonged periods at a high-resolution graphics workstation
- Munsell Hue/color blindness test compliance
