Job Summary
Lead the development, implementation, and management of environmental, safety, and health programs across sawmill facilities. Oversee OSHA compliance; investigate incidents; design and deliver training on safety practices, emergency procedures, and environmental awareness. Ensure environmental compliance with permits and reporting; conduct audits and risk assessments; drive sustainability initiatives including waste reduction and energy efficiency; implement health and wellness initiatives; prepare regulatory reports; develop emergency plans; collaborate with management, operations, and HR to integrate ESH practices into daily operations. Requires 3+ years in ESH in sawmill environment and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; CSP/CIH certifications are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in environmental, safety, and health management in sawmill industry
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Proven ability to lead safety programs and influence a safety-first culture within an industrial workforce
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train, influence, and work with employees at all levels
