Job Summary
Plan and implement daily activities aligned with the prescribed curriculum to address diverse student learning styles. Assess levels of student achievement by analyzing test results and prescribe specific actions for improvement. Maintain appropriate student supervision to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators regarding student progress and classroom matters. Apply knowledge of child development and current educational research to maximize instructional effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Certified by the State of Florida in the appropriate area
- Knowledge of child development
- Knowledge of characteristics of children in the age group assigned
- Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum
- Knowledge of current educational research
- Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology
- Knowledge of learning styles
- Skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles
- Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others
- Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness
- Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement
- Ability to analyze test results
- Ability to prescribe actions for improvement
- Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision
- Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators and others
