Job Summary
Implement and supervise the ESE referral, staffing, and IEP process for students with disabilities, applying best practices for social, emotional, and behavioral strategies. Lead programming and planning efforts to address the educational and behavioral needs of students with disabilities within the LEA. Maintain a valid Florida Educator's Certificate in Exceptional Student Education and ensure compliance with Florida State Statute 435.04 regarding Level 2 background checks and criminal history records. This 10-month role includes a $2,220 specialist supplement and requires three to five years of direct experience in implementing or supervising these critical processes.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience in programming or planning for the educational and behavioral needs of students with disabilities
- Currently possess a valid Florida Educator's Certificate in Exceptional Student Education
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of successful direct experience in implementing and/or supervising the ESE referral, staffing, and IEP process including experience as an LEA
- Strong knowledge of best practices for social, emotional, and behavioral strategies
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Must submit to a Level 2 background check pursuant to Florida State Statute 435.04 and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
