Job Summary
Facilitate annual IEP meetings, amendments, and re-evaluations while ensuring all federal and state regulatory timelines are met. Maintain accurate records and reports for audit preparation, FTE counts, and per-period counts as assigned by the ESE Director. Act as a resource for school personnel and parents regarding ESE rules, compliance, positive behavioral supports, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Mentor teachers on effective strategies, assist with IEP development and implementation, and collaborate with administration and related service providers to ensure appropriate services for students with disabilities. Provide crisis intervention services when necessary and monitor behavior and academic achievement data to determine appropriate supports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher degree from an accredited four-year college/university
- Experience as a teacher of students with disabilities
- Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and effective manner
- Knowledge of Pre-K – 12 Florida standards, assessment (to include alternate assessment) and accommodations for students with disabilities
- demonstrates knowledge of ACCESS point instruction
- Florida certification in Exceptional Student Education and one additional subject area
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening
