Job Summary
Complete real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements, examining property titles, mortgages, and trust deed documents, and preparing legal documents for sale closure. Act as a neutral liaison between file parties, manage funds, and process documents for closings while adhering to company policy and mitigating risk. Ensure all funds are properly accounted for and disbursed according to contract terms, then prepare regular reports on escrow account status. Record and file documents, prepare final closing statements, and distribute title information to complete settlements. This in-office role supports First American's Direct division in transforming the residential real estate experience through professional settlement services.
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of escrow-related experience
- Experience directly handling escrow transactions
- Openness to new technology and proprietary programs; adjusts easily to new workflow
- Passion for helping customers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication with both our internal team and external customers; comfortable using various types of communication to meet customer needs
- Problem solver with strong organizational skills, is detail oriented, and knows how to navigate internal and external resources to resolve issues
- Thrives in contributing to a team working together to deliver beyond customer expectations
- Comfortable guiding and supporting future talent learning the business
- Knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new software applications and technologies
- Valid Licensing/Certification as required by applicable state
- High school diploma or equivalent
