Job Summary
Oversees training, assigning, and supervising custodial staff; maintains a professional custodial program to provide a safe, clean, and sanitary environment across campus buildings (approximately 160,000 sq ft). Manages scheduling, coverage for all shifts, and coordination of grounds maintenance. Ensures compliance with safety procedures, hazardous communications,proper use of equipment, and maintains district records. Requires strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills, as well as ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must have HS diploma/GED (or equivalent experience), valid TX driver’s license, and be able to complete district supervision training within one year. Supervises 5–10 custodial staff at the middle school level, coordinating with Custodial Supervisor and administration, and performing related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required (Three years custodial experience can be substituted for the education requirement)
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with driving record meeting District requirements
- Successful completion of district training for supervision of Auxiliary Staff within one year of entering position
- Ability to read, speak and write English
- Personal cell phone required to handle district business (including after hours)
- Pre-employment physical examination may be required (including alcohol and drug testing)
- Three years supervisory experience is preferred
- Demonstrated supervisory and management skills
- Ability to deliver customer-oriented service under supervision
