Job Summary
Deliver high-quality social work assessments, interventions, and care planning for forensic mental health consumers at Ravenhall Correctional Centre. Complete comprehensive psychosocial, family, risk, and needs assessments while advocating for their rights and recovery goals. Provide specialist advice to multidisciplinary team members, support family-inclusive practice, and contribute to service improvement initiatives. Assist with the supervision of students and early-career social workers where appropriate. Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support positive consumer outcomes. This role aligns with the 2024-2028 implementation and requires a degree in Social Work with substantial post-qualification experience in complex statutory environments.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Social Work
- eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Demonstrated commitment to mental health recovery principles
- Substantial post-qualification social work experience
- Experience delivering ethical and effective social work services within complex or statutory environments
- Strong psychosocial assessment and complex case planning skills
- Understanding of risk, recovery and trauma-informed practice
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Influenza and Immunisation Evidence
- Police Check
