Job Summary
Review project proposals to determine time frames, funding limitations, and staffing requirements. Confers with Service Center Managers and Region Directors to outline work plans and assign duties. Establishes work plans for each project phase and directs Field Engineers and Technicians to ensure progress within budget. Reviews status reports from personnel, clients, and contractors to modify schedules as needed. Prepares project reports for management and clients, gathering back-up material for change orders. Develops large-scale project management processes and routines for the Company while mentoring junior personnel. Coordinates project activities with clients and contractors, providing technical advice to resolve problems. Requires valid driver's license, proficiency in MS Project and Latista, and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and travel.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and various industry standards such as OSHA and NFPA
- Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, Power Point, Latista, Google Docs and other project management software and applications
- Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, if required
- Requires work in a service center or field environment, including extensive computer and telephone use
- Requires excellent verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively with clients and their representatives, contractors, field engineers, peers and management
- Requires mature judgment, responsible for assigned projects and supervises, organizes and directs the work of others
- Requires high degree of communication, supervisory and organization skills
- Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work
- Must be available for out-of-town and international travel of up to several months
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, basic color differentiation and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift and/or move test equipment weighing up to 100 pounds
- Valid Driver's License
