Job Summary
Conduct daily ERC support at Lincoln Savage Middle School, working with a team of assistants to serve special needs students in the classroom. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction while managing age-appropriate behavioral issues with dignity. Perform physical tasks including lifting, moving, or restraining students as needed, and operate basic computer systems. Maintain initiative and self-direction while adhering to district protocols. Apply online with resume, letter of interest, and recommendations; submit to Human Resources for fingerprinting and skills assessment. High School Diploma or GED required with two years of college coursework or Associate's Degree. Bilingual and biliterate candidates encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work with ERC team of assistants
- Ability to work well with special needs students
- Understanding of age-appropriate behavioral issues
- Ability to work one-on-one or in small groups
- Ability to discipline with dignity
- Ability to take initiative and be self-directed
- Ability to stand, walk or sit on floor while working with students in the classroom or while supervising
- Ability to physically lift, move or restrain a student on a regular basis
- Must qualify or be able to meet standard for highly qualified para-professional
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two (2) years of college coursework or Associate's Degree
- Person filling this position will have to be fingerprinted
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with basic computer operations desired
