Job Summary
Complete accurate registration for all patients presenting to Western Missouri Medical Center, including verification of accounts, demographic data collection, and insurance benefit determination. Enter Medicare MSP information and calculate co-pays and deductibles while maintaining near 100% accuracy under pressure. Operate standard office equipment and perform other essential duties as assigned during 12-hour shifts (6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. or vice versa) as needed by the ED department. Maintain regular attendance and demonstrate professionalism while working without constant supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Typing skills of 45+ WPM
- Previous clerical experience
- Great customer service skills
- Self-motivation
- Ability to work within established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic
- Ability to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard
- Ability to continuously work under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines
- Manual/bi-manual dexterity

- Ability to occasionally reach above shoulder
- Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs
