Job Summary
Assess, plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Room by applying advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge. Provide proficient, age-specific nursing care while ensuring patient comfort and safety, and accurately document all interventions and outcomes. Observe physiological status, collect laboratory samples, and perform or assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures in accordance with established policies. Maintain patient privacy, follow infection control protocols, and execute admission, discharge, and transfer procedures. Complete required quality assessment activities and attend staff meetings as assigned. Requires current state licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, plus two years of ER experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions
- 2+ years full-time RN experience in ER or other comparable experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association
- ENPC certification from ENA (substituted for PALS)
- Fluency in English (written and oral)
- Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date
- Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date
