Job Summary
Provides leadership and support for all nursing and designated patient care functions within the hospital, with 24/7 responsibility for the Director’s assigned areas. Assists in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice across multiple units; ensures competency of clinical staff and effective resource management related to patient care. Position is within a Level I Trauma Center, with an ED volume of ~27,300 visits/year, 2 trauma bays, 38 beds, and an average trauma load of 8–15 per day. Responsible for overall operations of the Emergency Department and oversight of ~60 employees. Nursing staff represented by NNOC union. Requires highly effective interpersonal and communication skills and proven leadership ability; serves as a role model and advocate for the profession of nursing. Requirements include an associate degree with a health-care related bachelor's degree or BSN, and 2 years of progressive hospital management experience as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position; current licensure or certification as required by state law and CPR. Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a health care related field or a BSN
- 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position
- Currently licensed in the state of residence/practice, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR
