Job Summary
Vice President in Equity Research covering Utilities, you will become an industry expert, performing core research from dissecting earnings releases and regulatory filings to modeling financial statements and industry dynamics, performing valuation work, writing research notes and sector pieces, and speaking with internal and external clients and management teams. You will build and maintain Excel-based models to forecast company financials, conduct detailed valuation work to support stock recommendations, analyze complex data, prepare presentations, and coordinate with Sales and Trading to fulfill client requests for market updates and market intelligence. Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing/communication skills, along with modelling, forecasting, and valuation experience, are essential. Preferred CFA charterholder or progress towards CFA; some coding capabilities (VBA, Python). Location: New York, NY, United States.
Required Qualifications
- FINRA licenses Series 86 and Series 87
- Two to three years of experience in equity research and/or investment banking
- Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business communication skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate within a team as well as work independently
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Passion for the markets and utilities sector
