Job Summary
Write research reports including company initiations, industry thought pieces, and earnings recaps. Build dynamic industry models integrating income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Source alternative data sets to summarize relevant information for reports. Conduct proprietary research evaluating the competitive landscape and analyzing industry news. Maintain relationships with industry contacts and assist senior team members with marketing event preparation. This role covers approximately 10 SMID Cap U.S. Oil and Gas Exploration and Production stocks. The Vice President will work within Mizuho Americas' established energy research team, leveraging experience in equity research or U.S. E&P banking.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5-6 years of prior equity research experience
- Prior experience in banking in the U.S. E&P sector
- Series 7 license
- Series 63 license
- Series 86 license
- Series 87 license
- CFA level 1
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Prior experience building models and DCF-based valuation methodology
- Effective oral communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to write clearly and concisely
- Ability to function independently
- Collegial and collaborative approach to working with other team members
