Job Summary

Write research reports, including company initiations, industry thought pieces, and earnings recaps. Build dynamic industry models consisting of integrated Income Statement/Balance Sheet/Cash Flow Statements. Source alternative data sets and simplify relevant industry and company information for inclusion in research reports. Conduct proprietary research evaluating the competitive landscape and analyze industry/company news. Create and maintain relationships with industry contacts. Help senior analyst prepare for marketing events and conferences. This role supports an established senior biopharma and biotech analyst at Mizuho Americas. Candidates require a minimum of 2-3 years of prior equity research experience or relevant experience in banking, asset management, or the biopharmaceutical industry.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced science degree (PhD, MD, Master's)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of prior equity research experience
  • Prior experience in banking, asset management, the biopharmaceutical industry or life sciences consulting
  • Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 licenses
  • CFA level 1
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Prior experience building models and DCF-based valuation methodology
  • Effective oral communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Ability to function independently
  • Collegial and collaborative approach to working with other team members
  • Hybrid working program availability
