Job Summary
Conduct fundamental, bottom-up research on small and SMID cap growth stocks within industrials, technology, or healthcare sectors to generate alpha. Build strong relationships with company management teams and communicate action-oriented investment opinions clearly to the portfolio manager and team. Collaborate within the Small Cap Growth Portfolio Management team, which manages over $9 billion in strategies, while maintaining a growth mindset and challenging existing investment views. Work 4 days in-person at Wellington's Global Headquarters in Boston, MA, with one day of remote flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- Growth investing acumen and passion
- Experience and passion investing in small or SMID cap stocks with a Growth to GARP style
- Fundamental, research-oriented, bottom-up approach
- Ability to incorporate top-down perspectives such as sector and macro views
- Highly analytical and detailed approach
- Ability to effectively communicate findings to the portfolio manager and team
- Superior collaboration and influencing skills
- Ability to build strong trusting relationships internally with colleagues and externally with company management teams
- Ability to take risk and challenge investment views
- Humility to admit mistakes and desire to learn from others
- Recognition of the benefits of diverse perspectives
- Ability to communicate action-oriented opinions clearly and with conviction
- Contribution to an open investment dialogue
- Flexibility and openness to continue learning, evolving and growing as an investor
- Minimum of 8-12+ years of experience with small, SMID or mid cap equity research and/or portfolio management
- Strong bottom-up fundamental approach to research
- Strong track record of making successful investment recommendations and generating alpha

- Self-awareness and self-confidence to be comfortable 'being wrong'
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
