Job Summary
Equity Research Analyst for U.S. small/micro-cap strategies focused on fundamental, bottom-up research. Generate long-term investment ideas, conduct proprietary research using filings, meetings, and alternative data, and build multi-year financial models. Leverage AI/LLMs to enhance research workflow, synthesize large data volumes into actionable investment insights, and collaborate with Portfolio Managers to generate differentiated ideas. Role requires strong communication, independent work capability, and a team-oriented mindset within Wellington Management’s global research platform. Based in Wellington’s Boston headquarters with a 4:1 in-office to remote work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree required
- 5-10 years of buy-side experience
- Experience investing in U.S. small/SMID or micro-cap equities
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise
- Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate clearly
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Experience applying AI, NLP, or machine learning in an investment/research context
- Strong intellectual curiosity and interest in financial markets and technology
- MBA or CFA/CAIA preferred
