Job Summary
The Equipment Yard Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the equipment yard and grounds, including organization, logistics, safety, security, and maintenance programs. Responsibilities include overseeing shipping/receiving and inventory, coordinating with rental and service departments, ensuring yard cleanliness and compliance with Caterpillar Retail Presence guidelines, managing yard staff and workflows, conducting inspections for damage and safety, maintaining required documentation (JHA, CPRMP-related tasks, STAR reporting), and driving efficient, safe yard operations in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics AX and related inspection/reporting tools (CAT Inspect, Return to Ready), and adherence to safety policies; must have a high school diploma or GED, relevant industry experience, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of high school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year construction industry or security industry experience
- Minimum of one year equipment operation experience (e.g., forklifts, rigging and overhead cranes)
- Minimum of one year inventory and logistics experience
- Minimum of one year supervisory experience
- Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
- Ability to communicate in English (read/write)
