Job Summary
Conduct hands-on and classroom training for employees operating construction equipment, covering safe procedures, inspections, startup, maintenance, and shutdown protocols. Train and authorize operators on specific machinery including pile drivers, skid steers, dozers, and excavators while developing refresher training and corrective coaching as needed. Perform practical operating assessments, skills demonstrations, and equipment audits to reinforce Daily Vehicle Inspection procedures. Authorize and certify operators based on company standards, maintain accurate qualification records, and assist with incident investigations involving equipment operation. Oversee Equipment IRS Training for apprentice operators.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years of experience operating heavy construction equipment
- Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment safety standards and operational practices
- Ability to effectively teach and communicate with employees of varying skill levels
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous training, coaching, or leadership experience
- OSHA certifications or equipment trainer certifications
