Job Summary
Conduct hands-on and classroom training for employees operating construction equipment, covering safe operating procedures, inspections, startup, maintenance, and shutdown protocols. Train and authorize operators on jobsite awareness and company policies, while developing refresher training and corrective coaching as needed. Perform practical operating assessments and skills demonstrations to evaluate competency, then maintain accurate operator qualification and training records. Conduct equipment audits to reinforce Daily Vehicle Inspection (DVI) procedures and assist with incident investigations involving equipment operation. Oversee Equipment IRS Training for apprentice operators and mentor staff in field environments. Requires minimum 5+ years of heavy equipment operation experience and strong documentation skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years of experience operating heavy construction equipment
- Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment safety standards and operational practices
- Ability to effectively teach and communicate with employees of varying skill levels
- Strong documentation and organizational skills

- Previous training, coaching, or leadership experience
- OSHA certifications or equipment trainer certifications
