Job Summary
Equipment Repair Technician I at STERIS performs disassembly, testing, troubleshooting, diagnostics, refurbishing and reassembling of medical equipment. Will work with hand tools, diagnostic devices, and electro-mechanical/hydraulic competencies to service STERIS and competitive equipment. Requires on-site work five days a week at the Indianapolis, IN location. Duties include disassembling, replacing or repairing defective parts, rewiring or reassembling, calibrating and certifying equipment, evaluating safety and efficiency, and maintaining high quality standards. Must maintain safe work areas, follow 5S/LEAN practices, and comply with safety regulations. Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years related experience; overtime/weekends may be required; strong teamwork and customer-focused communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years related experience (e.g. mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, hydraulics, plumbing, HVAC, and/or automotive diagnosis or repair)
- Associates degree or related certifications may be considered towards technical experience
- Willing to work overtime and weekends, flexible shifts as needed
- Experience working in a Customer focused environment
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and write details about each repair
