Job Summary

Operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and haul trucks to perform excavation, grading, trenching, and material movement. Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections, monitor performance, and report mechanical issues while performing routine maintenance such as fueling and lubricating. Read site plans, interpret specifications, and coordinate with supervisors and drivers to ensure efficient project completion. Maintain a clean work area, complete inspection reports and logs, and adhere to all safety regulations, MSHA, and OSHA requirements. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions with potential overtime, weekends, and travel to different job sites.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience operating heavy construction or industrial equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Knowledge of safe equipment operating practices
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and enter/exit equipment for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to see, hear, and react quickly to changing job-site conditions
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Desired Qualifications

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour certification
  • Experience with GPS-guided or grade-control systems
  • Equipment-specific certifications or training
  • Experience in construction, utilities, roadwork, mining, or industrial operations
