Job Summary
Maintain, repair, and operate plant equipment including circulating water systems, boiler systems, and turbine/generator systems. Perform mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and operation of power plant machinery while monitoring temperature, pressure, flow, and level transmitters. Use hand and power tools to assess equipment condition and enter data into handheld electronic devices. Work in a physically demanding environment, potentially outdoors in all weather conditions, and may be assigned to the Fire Brigade and Rescue Team. Schedule involves rotating shifts or day schedules; hourly rate is $48.77.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or GED equivalent
- Successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program
- Good Knowledge of basic math, reading and writing skills
- Ability to use all hand tools and various tools
- 3- 5 years Journeyman level experience in a heavy industrial setting (Utility, Refinery, Mill, etc) performing Mechanical Maintenance activities
- Ability and knowledge in troubleshooting, repairing, installing, reading mechanical prints
- Good Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic Computer skills
- Working a combination of rotating shift and/or day schedule
- Working outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Compliance with Luminant Safety Handbook
Desired Qualifications
- Prior Power Plant Experience
- Ability and knowledge in troubleshooting, repairing, installing, reading mechanical prints, etc
