Equipment Service Technician (Plant 5 - 3rd shift)

Job Summary

Perform troubleshooting and repair of equipment using technical manuals, cloud-based software, and phone support while conducting preventive and general maintenance on assigned machines. Locate, order, or manufacture parts for repairs, utilizing lift trucks to move, hook-up, and level equipment. Maintain parts inventories, ensure work area cleanliness and organization, and document machine repair via the CMMS system. Read and understand electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine prints; gather and analyze information to determine the best course of action. Work 8-hour shifts on the 3rd shift in a noisy plant environment with exposure to heat, chemicals, and vibrations. Requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to talk, hear, see, have good binocular vision, distinguish colors, do simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation with both hands, and use feet to operate foot pedals
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments that include exposure to indoor/outdoor temperatures, heat, weld flash, chemicals, fumes, bright lights, plant electrical voltages, dust, shavings, vibrations, grease, solvents, and oil
  • Must be able to safely drive company vehicles
  • Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes
  • Read and understand electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine prints and diagrams
  • Basic math (including fractions and decimals)
  • Basic understanding of PLC Logics
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Remember, reason, analyze, problem solve, and troubleshoot
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with other technicians and plant personnel
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to multi-task
