Equipment Pool Technician

Job Summary
Pickup used equipment from OHSU clinics and patient care areas, then decontaminate instrumentation using sterilization and infection control principles. Operate equipment including computers, scanners, telephones, and electric carts while performing routine quality checks on code carts, PAPR, and airway rolls. Dispense equipment and instrumentation using the HEMS tracking system, restock carts, and put away supplies. Maintain records, patient specialty placement equipment, and reports according to established policies. Assist with in-servicing and orientation of staff, both new and those in assignment rotation. Maintain a clean and neat work area. Rotate weekends, work various shifts, and holidays. Handle varying unpredictable, emergency, and crisis situations while wearing PPE when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience providing customer service to a high volume customer base.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Rotate weekends, work various shifts, and holidays
- Work with detergents, enzymes, germicide, and other related chemicals
- Risk of exposure to infectious disease, blood, body fluids and/or tissue as well as other unpleasant elements such as accidents, injuries and illness
- Risk of exposure to and be required to handle varying unpredictable, emergency and crisis situations
- Risk of exposure to frustrated or violent patients
- PPE when necessary: gloves, mask, gown, bonnet, and shoe covers
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years job experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical laboratory with exposure to decontamination and cleaning processes
- 2 year's materials handling experience including inventory and stocking of perishable supplies
