Job Summary
Equipment Operator supports warehouse operations by efficiently moving, picking, and storing products using powered industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a cherry picker and using an RF scanner to manage inventory. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment and inventory management. Responsibilities include operating cherry pickers, picking from racking, transporting to the dock, putaway inbound product, scanning with RF gun, following warehouse layouts, performing daily safety checks, maintaining a clean workspace, assisting with inventory counts, and adhering to safety policies (OSHA, MSDS).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Experience operating a cherry picker or similar equipment required
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and RF scanning technology
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights (up to 10 feet)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime if required
- Current certification for operating powered industrial trucks (PIT). (preferred)
- Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment. (preferred)
- Safety: Observe and follow health and safety regulations
- Enforces operating instructions and safety policies
- Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures
- Maintain detailed records of safety incidents
- Assign designated safety personnel
- Maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
