Equipment Operator - Underground (AP)

Job Summary
Conduct new construction, maintenance, and repair work on energized and de-energized underground electrical distribution systems, including installing transformers, replacing fuses, and clearing faulted circuits. Operate heavy equipment and maintain company vehicles while performing rigorous physical labor in various locations, including outside in inclement weather. Work safely around high-voltage systems using proper flag and tag procedures, inspecting PPE and rubber goods, and following all safety rules. Requires a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days, ability to travel long distances on short notice, and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime. Must possess five years of recent field experience and be capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.
Required Qualifications
- 5-year minimum of recent field experience
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English
- Able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days of employment
- Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required
- Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
- Willing to work over-time when requested
- Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position
- Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies
Desired Qualifications
- A Commercial Driver's License is preferred
