Equipment Operator - Transmission (GTC)

Job Summary
Conduct new construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de-energized overhead transmission systems, including stringing wire, setting poles, and assisting with transformer installations. Perform rigorous physical labor while working at heights and in confined spaces, frequently in inclement weather. Maintain company vehicles and equipment, and operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely. Check voltages, clear faulted circuits, and follow flag and tag procedures for high-voltage work. Obtain a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days and be willing to travel to various locations, including other states, on short notice. Work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, while adhering to all safety rules and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English
- Able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days of employment
- Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required
- Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
- Able to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE
- Willing to work over-time when requested
- Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position
- Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies
Desired Qualifications
- A Commercial Driver's License is preferred
