Job Summary
Equipment Operator Stormwater Maintenance responsible for cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs of the City’s stormwater infrastructure including sewers, inlets, manholes, channels, swales, BMPs; operate heavy equipment (backhoe, front-end loader, flusher truck, dump trucks, street sweepers, skid steers, etc.); perform pre/post-trip DOT inspections; respond to emergency events (floods, adverse weather); contribute to safety, teamwork, and excellent service; duties include general labor as needed and occasional overtime/weekend on-call during snow or flood events; requires CDL Class B with air brake and tanker endorsement; field experience with stormwater construction/maintenance and knowledge of snow/ice control; ability to operate a range of heavy equipment and use project/asset management software; willing to work odd hours and meet select training requirements; Benefits include health plans, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, and work-life balance; location in Loveland, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED
- Must possess a valid Class B commercial drivers license (CDL) with air brake and tanker endorsement
- Flagging and Traffic Control Certificates highly desired
- Confined Space Entry training and/or certification desired
- Experience operating a tandem axle dump truck, snowplow, backhoe, skid steer, street sweeper, and/or other construction related equipment is highly desirable
- Experience constructing or maintaining stormwater infrastructure (i.e., storm sewer, inlets, manholes, channels) or roadways is highly desirable
- Experience with stormwater, water/wastewater, or roadway construction, maintenance, and repair preferred
- Welding and/or mechanical experience is desirable
