Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment to load/unload scrap metal and debris in a recycling yard, determine load weights, identify and grade inbound scrap, drain fluids and gases, and direct trucks for loading/unloading. Perform daily equipment inspections and comply with safety, health, and environmental rules. Work outdoors in varying weather, with hours Monday–Friday 7:30 am–4:00 pm and Saturdays 7:30–11:30 am; opportunities for advancement and bonuses are available.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience
- 1-year experience operating a hydraulic crane and wheeled bucket loader; operations in the scrap metal or construction industries preferred
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
