Job Summary
Equipment Operator role handling safe, efficient processing of inbound materials and refuse via Covanta’s industrial disposal process. Responsibilities include operating a variety of industrial equipment (forklift, track hoe, skid steer, vacuum truck, tanker truck, roll-off truck, walking floor trailer, pressure washer, and hand tools), receiving, weighing, unpacking and labeling containers, consolidating dumped refuse on the tipping floor, maintaining housekeeping in assigned areas, exterior site maintenance (litter collection, snow/ice removal), traffic control for incoming/outgoing traffic, and assisting facility mechanics with equipment repairs. Requires high school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and at least 1 year of equipment-operating experience; ability to work rotating shifts; capability to lift 50 lbs; ability to wear a full-face respirator; and comfort working in various weather conditions. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience operating industrial equipment
- Ability to work rotating shift
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
- Able to walk, stand, sit, and climb
