Job Summary
Operate heavy construction equipment (dozers, excavators, loaders) to perform earthwork and civil construction tasks on SERB projects in Prince of Wales Island, AK. Perform pre-shift inspections (lights, brakes, fuel, oil, water, other components), maintain equipment and hydraulics knowledge for proper operation, read and interpret grade stakes, follow safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew to coordinate activities. Maintain good housekeeping of equipment, support project needs, and comply with internal/external policies. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and ability to pass drug screening and PAT; typically requires 2+ years of operating experience or 3,500 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of equipment operating experience or 3,500 operating hours
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to maintain a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a drug screening and a Physical Abilities Test (PAT)
- Demonstrated ability to follow internal and external policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to understand, interpret, and implement both verbal and written instructions
