Job Summary
Journeyman Equipment Operator for a water project in Papillion, NE. Responsibilities include completing THA logs, recognizing hazards, planning and executing work with minimal supervision, reading blueprints, identifying soil types, trenching (shallow and deep), rough/fine grading with dozer, loading/unloading materials, operating water/off-road trucks, operating long-reach excavator and motor grader, and operating small construction equipment (front loader, mixer, forklift, skid steer). Must maintain basic equipment maintenance, emphasize safety, and have 5+ years of equipment operation experience. Requires IUOE Local 571 membership or willingness to join; strong emphasis on safety and ability to work night shifts and travel to/from job site.
Required Qualifications
- Must be an existing member or willing to join International Union of Operating Engineers Local 571
- Prior experience with self-perform earthwork operations in commercial or civil environments
- Must be able to use laser level
- Understand construction terminology
- Proven commitment to Safety
- Work in an organized manner
- Able to work night shifts when needed
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
- Ability to squat, crawl
- Minimum age 18+
